N'Kenge: I have been singing all my life. I wanted to be the next Whitney Houston at age 10 and then fell into the opera world when my first voice teacher Yvonne Hatchett at Harlem School of the Arts trained me classically. I exceled in it so much that scholarshipS I won through competitions helped pay my education when obtaining my degrees at both the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. My Opera career has taken me all over the world in concerts and I now sing in 10 languages. Still I had regreted not pursuing the R&B/Pop career when my mom turned down a record deal that was offered to me through Motown Records at age 12. Its ok though because I have been blessed with my education and got a chance to discover so many different cultures when traveling the world. Now I decided to take a chance and fulfill my childhood dreams by finally releasing my new single "Tell Me". Some of the recent highlights of my career as I cross over from the opera world to the more pop culture was singing the Title role in Elton John's musical Aida, starring in The Genius of Ray Charles musical tribute at the Haymarket Theater in West End London and just returning from originating and performing the 3 MO'Divas hit musical. My oficial website is coming soon but in the meantime, you can check out the site I had in my classical days at WWW.NKENGE.NET
